Hello! I am Rania Zidi,

Software Engineering Student - ESPRIT

“Work to become, not to acquire.”
Elbert Hubbard

I had my high school diploma in 2012.  I choose to study preparatory cycle because I have always wanted to become an engineer.  Unfortunately, my first year was a failure because my 9.5 average wasn’t enough to succeed to the next year.  At first, everyone around me was advising me to change my orientation and study another specialty because the preparatory cycle was too difficult.  But that failure gave me more courage and determination to try again, try harder and become the engineer I have always wanted to be. So, I choose not to change my orientation and happily, I made it and I succeeded at the Tunisian National Exam of Engineering in 2015.   Currently, I am finishing my IT engineering cycle at ESPRIT.

Despite my academic curriculum, in 2013, I became a member of the AVSPC (the association of volunteering in the civil protection service). They taught us extinction, rescue and first aid. By the end, I was evaluated in the three sections and I received the Tunisian National Diploma in First Aid.  In 2014, I went to London and took an English course.  It was in Francesking School of English.  It was more a social experience than an English course because I had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and get to discover new cultures and traditions.  In 2016, I was part of the Explore Poland Project.  In collaboration with AIESEC, I volunteered to teach children in Krakow, Poland, the English language.  It was very enriching.  A once in a lifetime experience! I am also an alumni member of Enactus Esprit ICT.

We were a community of students, academic and business leaders committed to using entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better world.  I consider myself the luckiest for having been a part of the TAEF’s Fellows Program in collaboration with Proxym-IT in summer 2017 as a software engineering intern.  It was my first step in the “work world”.  I have been well surrounded and most importantly well advised which made me so confident today, ready to face my career. Today, I am working on my graduation project in VIZEO Technologies company based in Paris. I am planning on getting my Diploma by the end of the summer. Hopefully, I will hardly work on getting the knowledge and experience needed to start my own IT company one day.

I work as a Finance Engineer at BNP PARIBAS Paris since April 2020
