Hello! I am Maram Ben Mbarek – A senior Student at Tunis Business School Majoring in Finance and Minoring in Information technology | SUSI EED Alumna
I am Maram and it took me 30 minutes to make the best decision of my whole life: choosing to pursue business studies instead of medical studies. I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence throughout my career and wanted to become a doctor. However, I was not selected to study medicine, so I chose Tunis Business School in 2020. Now that I see how much impact my current university had on me and how it shaped me both academically and interpersonally, I feel so grateful for being part of it.

Tunis Business School’s dynamic learning environment, marked by competitiveness and a proactive mindset, opened new horizons for me. It challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and explore uncharted territories. I enthusiastically joined two clubs and took on the responsibilities of organizing two significant events: TEDxTBS and an entrepreneurial hackathon. Additionally, I engaged in various entrepreneurial competitions, such as OSTX, the Hult Prize Competition, the Investment Competition by ATLAS Future Leaders, and the StartuPeak Competition by JCI TBS, collaborating with inspiring peers to devise innovative solutions to address the unmet needs of Tunisian citizens.

In 2021, I was privileged to participate in the SUSI for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development exchange program hosted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This exchange program was not merely an academic venture; it expanded my horizons and allowed me to connect with brilliant minds. During the five-week program, I eagerly absorbed invaluable knowledge by attending resourceful lectures and engaging in many eye-opening activities such as interviewing entrepreneurs and selling a product in the local market.

As a senior student at TBS, I’ve discovered my passion for a field that seamlessly integrates critical reasoning, mathematics, and statistics which is finance. My internship with Flat6Labs, the prominent venture capital firm in the MENA Region, through the TAEF program, provided me with hands-on experience in the private equity sector.

This experience solidified my resolve to pursue a career in this field. I gained invaluable insights and honed essential skills required for a role in private equity. I wholeheartedly recommend the TAEF Program to aspiring students; it offers a golden opportunity to acquire critical skills and expand one’s network.
